
Ontario, Ore. -- A truck driver was killed while chaining up his rig Tuesday morning during a heavy snowstorm.
It happened shortly after 8 a.m. near Ontario. Oregon State Police say two men were putting chains on their tires on an I-84 off-ramp and both were wearing reflective jackets.
A man driving a third truck slammed into both men, then fled. The impact killed Milton Belton of Washington instantly. The other victim, a Nampa man, was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
As for the driver who allegedly hit the men -- Francisco Lecaro -- police found him at a truckstop. No word on any charges yet.
